Re: Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket LOOX T830 Review

Sirox, cheers for the comments I agree completely. T

Turning off using the profile system does indeed work, but it is not one handed, and that was what I wanted to achieve.

I know what the manual says about the green light, but if you do turn it off in the profile manager you still get the blue light indicating new messages. Unless I understood it incorrectly the manual states the following ref the green notification:

"If your device is switched off (Standby mode) when new data are received via
LED will start to flash.
The following conditions must be satisfied in order to use e-mail push:
• The server must support e-mail push.
• Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 is installed.
• Direct push has been set up by your administrator on your Pocket PC.
....
Configuring device behaviour when E-mail push is activated
You can configure how your device should behave when E-mail push is activated. Usually, the device LED starts flashing when new information is being received. However, you can change this behaviour.
► In the Today screen, press and hold the End key.
The profile list is displayed.
► Use the navigation key to select the desired profile.
► Select Menu – Edit.
► Enter the settings for E-mail push and confirm with OK."

It is not clear though whether this is referencing the Blue or Green LED flash. But as that second paragraph refers to Push email only and that option in the profiles has turned off the Green LED only I think I'l stand by my convictions.

Thanks for the information on using the FN key to get the £ character, I'd missed that

E2C, yes I could have been clearer, but as you say it slows down almost everything it is used for so I do not use it, and as I've only had the device a week I was unaware of it reverting to the basic version.

Thanks for the tip on using Opera Mini I might give that a try!

.... and welcome to 4WM
