Bluetooth Dialup Modem connection to P800 (GPRS) Problem...

Hi folks,

I had a quick search through the forums and didn't find anything that helped, so I thought I'd ask around...

I'm trying to get my N560 to dial up over Bluetooth through my P800 GPRS connection.

If I set everything up using the IrDA modem connection, everything works fine, and I can get a network connection ok.

As soon as I try to use the Bluetooth connection, it doesn't work!

On my P800, I see the BT connection get set up, but it simply doesn't seem to respond to the ATD *99# command (or the *99***1#).

The Loox says it is trying to dial, but no joy...

Settings on the Loox:

P800 Bluetooth Connection:
Modem: Bluetooth Dialup Modem
Number to dial: *99#
(I've also tried *99***1#, both of which work fine through IrDA, but not BT)
User Name: <blank>
Password: <blank>
Domain: <blank>

Advanced:
  • General:[list:848702e15d]Baud rate: 115200
Port Settings:
  • Data bits: 8
    Parity: None
    Stop bits: 1
    Flow control: Hardware
TCP/IP:
  • Server-assigned IP address
Use software compression: On (but I've tried Off)
Use IP header compression: On (but I've tried Off)
Servers:
  • Use server-assigned addresses

If I manually click-n-hold on the "P800 Bluetooth" connection, and select 'connect' from the drop-down menu, the BT connection is established, but the phone doesn't do anything else!

I have had this working from my laptop through BT to the P800, but SE provided a modem .inf file that describes the modems (USB/IR/BT), so I could ‘install’ a P800 BT modem.

I was wondering about finding a way to 'transcribe' the .inf file into N560 speak and into the registry, but...

Anyone out there any ideas on what to try?

Regards,

Andy B.
