Hi lineman, welcome to 4WM. I'm not Boz, but I can help you out here.
No need to apolgise for being new at this.
You have the zip file. Open the zip file on your computer. Inside the zip file is a .cab file. Put the .cab file on to your storage card. Put the storage card back in your device. Open your file explorer program and navigate to the .cab file. Tap the .cab file, and the installation will start.

Since you say you are new, here are a couple of extra useful tips:
- get a card reader. Using the reader to transfer files is many, many times faster than using the connection between your device and the PC.
- get a third party file explorer program, as the built in one is poor. There's a free program called Total Commander (use the forum search and you will probably find a link to download it). Or a lot of people, me included, like a paid for program named Resco Explorer which does more (available from the Shop link, search for Resco).
