Re: Advent 4213 - ubuntu realtek wifi driver
The latest driver on that page appears to compile with no errors. (it doesnt automatically reboot like the other ones, so i closed the terminal and restarted in the normal way)
I tried the command you suggested, sudo modprobe r8180:
pete@pete-laptop:~$ sudo modprobe r8180 [sudo] password for pete: FATAL: Error inserting r8180 (/lib/modules/2.6.24-21-generic/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/r8180.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg) pete@pete-laptop:~$

on another note, is it possible to just uninstall wubi-ubuntu and reinstall, using the old drivers that worked correctly, then when it prompts to download updates, simply uncheck the wirless updates, or will it mess up the wireless regardless?
