Except the Friday would probably be way off the bottom of the screen because all the items for the other days would be displayed. Even a soft reset didn't fix this. List View always indicated that "Today" was Monday.
I would advise SBSH gets hold of a new S60 device (something like FP2). S60 has always been appalling on the PIM side of things but the very latest version has introduced some really nice features and nice use of screen space to display the maximum amount of usefull features with minimum clutter. There is definitely a similar look and feel between Calendar Touch and the latest S60 devices.

On my devices with the current S/W version, selecting what you suggest, then I think Friday 19th would in fact be the top day in the List view (of course that is an assumption, as I've not tried that yet, but at the moment, the top displayed day in List is Tuesday 16th, so I'd assume the rest of the week would work the same?)
