i-mate cancel devices
Sources today have indicated that confirmed the i-mate 6150 and 8150 are still on their way - but possibly not shipping until October.
However the long awaited and anticipated 7150 and 9150 machines are cancelled. Further devices will arrive later in the year but it is not known if these machines will be included in the line up.

Re: i-mate cancel devices
Well, it'll still be interesting to see if the two that come are any good, but it's pretty weak that we're not seeing the 7150. It's the one everyone wanted to see......

Re: i-mate cancel devices
Indeed very disappointing news indeed. I'm still hopign it comes out later but my thoughts are now that with the financial problems i-mate are having it is unlikely.

Re: i-mate cancel devices
It may well depend on the success of the two that are released I guess as to whether they sink or swim!

Re: i-mate cancel devices
But you would have thought they would have released the 7150 to keep them afloat, as this was the most eagerly anticipated model.

Re: i-mate cancel devices
Yep, you'd think so, but maybe it was just vapourware after all?

Re: i-mate cancel devices
You could be right, got the publicity though!

Re: i-mate cancel devices
Indeed, but if it then fails to be released all the publicity goes bad. Bad move in my book.

Re: i-mate cancel devices
It is quite disappointing, not only because i find 7150 very interesting but also because there would be one less WM6 manufacturers out there. I would hope that WM business can sustain a few reputable handset manufacterers which would in turn drive more innovation and competition. Hope i-mate can turn around although I have to say things aren't looking good, especially if 7150 is still-born.

Even worse move is to release something when the company hasn't been able to put the resources in to make it work right. Pulling a product that isn't going to meet its target date/is failing testing/can't have the promised features is better than delivering it.
