This could be quite interesting. I've also found the Voda ROMs to be pretty good.

Typical, just as I start using cooked roms! Would be very interested in some feedback on it. Can you let us know the rom version, build, radio etc too?

Re: Vodafone official 6.1 upgrade available for v1615! :)

I'd love to get some feedback on this.
My 1615 has been superb aside from memory leaks and restart instability resulting from Good Messaging.
Sadly I have to have the latter installed ... and it was installed after most of the rest of my software.

When the PDA is reset (which is required as memory leaks over a week from circa 54mg with Good running to 45mg) it often hangs. If it doesn't hang for some odd reason the phone app won't launch. I think it is tied to the Good Messaging device protection which has a password screen on startup ...

Things may improve if I rebuild from scratch with the latest Good Messaging client installed straight after upgrade / hard reset ... so I'm tempted to go to WM6.1.

As far as I'm aware there are some fluffy suggestions of improvements with PIE, SMS and general stability / performance / battery life ... but little solid in the way of functionality.

Please let us know ....

Paul.

Hi Paul, in answer to your queries Internet Explorer is a new version and is faster with more functions such as zoom and battery life can be improved but there are no guarantees.

SMS is now improved so that all sent and replied to texts from individuals are in one string for easy reference. The device will also be more responsive and generally perform much faster all round.

I would certainly give it a try and if you are not happy you can always return to the older version.

I've had a good experience with the 6.1 ROM so far. Not blistering speed increases, but usability is certainly better and the device is more responsive on the whole IMHO.

The threaded SMS feature is cool though!

Re: Vodafone official 6.1 upgrade available for v1615! :)

The video/graphics drivers seem to be a myth to me! I have never had a problem playing games or movies on my HTC devices, I don't really understand what the fuss is all about.
