HTC Touch Pro video out - shockingly good!

The guys over at wmpoweruser.com have got hold of the special TV-Out cable which enables the TV-out functionality on the HTC Touch Pro.

Their results are surrisingly good with photos, video and web pages displaying well.

My only concern is battery life as the cable does not apear to have any charging function so I can't see it being a winner for watching a full movie being palyed with Coreplayer.

My upgrade is due now and I am eagerly awaiting this coming out on TMobile, anyone heard any dates?

It does look good doesn't it, the cables are available in the UK here. I could do with a TV out cable for the E-TEN V900 but not sure if this cable would be compatible with it.

I wonder if the Y splitter available from HTC would work charging and allowing the TV out at the same time?

Only way to find that one out I think is to try it, all depends on how the TV out is wired up I would think and what if any power it pulls.

Interesting that mentions an inline ExtUSB charging connection so I wonder if it can charge as well as be used for display?

My brother has got the phone and cable, and I had a quick play this weekend - didn't hook it up to a display though.
The phone seems solid and he's happy with it [apart from the battery life].

Note that the cable has a mini-USB in - visible in the first picture - I assume this allows the device to be charged while playing video.

But do I want it on the Xperia, the Touch Pro or a WM7 device... I'll be happy with any!!
