Re: Multi-Touch already possible?

Forgot to mention,

Hadn't Apple already taken them to court but they've been counter-sued for anti-competetive behaviour and stifling the marketplace.....

That's probably why it hasn't been released yet.....

Re: Multi-Touch already possible?

I didn't belive that Apple have the rights to "multi-touch".
Look at the Microsoft Surface product - that has been in development longer than the iPhone and Microsoft haven't been taken Apple to court for the hardware.

As for multi-touch - I think any new technology such as this is a welcome addition.
The more options available to a user the better.
For example, gaming... would be fantastic to be able to use the touchscreen for gaming applications with multi-touch.
But agree - keep the hardware buttons and navpad for additional use.

Also - the sneak-peek that we had into WM7, I thought that said MS were hoping to include multi-touch (along with other features such as additional sensors for ambient lighting, accelerometer, proximity, and shake)??

Re: Multi-Touch already possible?

I didn't think Apple were suing for the multi-touch. I think it was the whole package. It was so clearly a rip-off of the iPhone.

Maybe, but don't you mean ambivalent, or equivocal in this case?

Re: Multi-Touch already possible?

I'm with Bassey. I'm not against multi touch but I'd rather be able to do everything with one hand. If I wanted to use two hands I'd use an ultra mobile.

Re: Multi-Touch already possible?

One of the sub 10" laptops. Acer Aspire One, EEE range, MSI Wind etc. I guess I'd even include the Ameo and the overly expensive Shift.
