Re: HTC Touch

I thought I'd miss the scroll wheel, but the scroll on the screen gets around that. You don't need soft buttons either with the flush screen. It has to be tried really. It's much quicker for me than using the buttons.

Re: HTC Touch

Say goodbye to your stylus Des.

I still rate the Touch as the best at the moment.

I hope so, I was going to wait for the HTC Wing, but was simply astounded at how svelte the Touch is. I think that this is going to be the first PPC where I try to be minimalist to keep some of the CPU speed. The Ameo is for work, and does very well at it, but the Touch fits the bill for pleasure (Not sure how that sounds though!)

BTW, what SIP are you using, and what tips/tricks have you discovered since the review regarding ther Touch?

Re: HTC Touch

I flip between two SIPs. SpB Fullscreen Keyboard in landscape mode for hardcore typing and the PocketCM SIP for portrait keyboard I've found to be by far the best.

I never really altered the software on the Touch. Other than Sat Nav, Resco and Sudoku I've not loaded hardly anything. I think the HTC Home plugin and the regular MS stuff does it for me. That could be why I've had so few problems too, but mine's been bulletproof from day one.

Cheers Dave,

I'm going to try the Teksoft keyboard as I have that on the Ameo for now, but will also look at the SPB fullscreen keyboard. Have you played about with other ROMs and/or Overclocking the CPU at all?

Re: HTC Touch

I've downloaded a couple of ROMs and have been tempted by the page pool size tweak, but for the first time ever I've found a device that is 95% there with the launch ROM, so I've not taken the plunge yet.
