Re: CoPilot Live! (7) Review
Forgot to ask - are you sure you can update the maps with revised road info? I was under the impression you couldn't for v6, and looking at the ALK site, they don't mention this as a new feature :O(

So I was pleasantly surprised to find CoPilot 6 both easy to use and accurate - when I've been in other cars I've heard a lot of 'turn around's whereas with CP6, if you suddenly change your mind about which road to take, the software very quickly recalculates a route - hardly ever saying 'turn around'.
The only thing that worried me slightly is that they announced this version way back in March or something, so hopefully the delay is because they were determined to release a stable 7.0.0

Hi Mike, I've had this new version for a couple of months now, and there has been a lot of performance and feature tweaking going on in the background from ALK, hence I would think the release delay.
I don't think you can alter the maps yourself, but the automatic updating facility will allow ALK to update the maps with revised road info, and ALK insist they will be placing a lot of priority on customer feedback for this release.

- great, that makes things much more flexible.
I'll either upgrade, or hope that o2 include a deal for CP7 with my Tytn/Orbit replacement.

Re: CoPilot Live! (7) Review
ALK have confirmed that O2 and TMobile are definitely shipping the new version of Copilot, but they weren't sure at what point in time they would be cutting over. It might be worth giving them a call about it (O2).

Re: CoPilot Live! (7) Review
Well having received more information about CPL7 last night, I'm really impressed that the package can work on all WM platforms (PPC/SP) from the same base software and T-Mobile users will get free traffic alerts. Now the question is - will an upgrade from an existing T-Mobile CPL6 package get the free traffic too?

Re: CoPilot Live! (7) Review
I think you might have to ask Tmobile that question mate. Their own upgrade package is likely to differ to that of ALK, unless of course you're thinking of going through ALK direct for the upgrade?

Re: CoPilot Live! (7) Review
I recieved a pre-ordered version of CPL7 this week in the US. It is as good as the review here, if not better. It is responsive, intuitive and the routing is better than the previous version of CP for sure. I used CP6 for a while and this makes 6 look like it is from the stone ages. Kudos to ALK on a super product.

Re: CoPilot Live! (7) Review
Hi Lauras, glad you agree with the review. It was really only the pedestrian/cycling routing and the non voice controlled volume that stopped it from scoring in the 90's and getting a gold medal. Have you found any issues?

Re: CoPilot Live! (7) Review
One issue I've seen is that it did appear to crash when calc'ing a route once. Other than that nothing, but i'll keep looking!
Also, although we came out with similar numbers, I found your review was a bit stingy when it came to usability, interface and speed. To be concerned about the size of the menu button is nonsense when you consider the overall feature set and usability of the maps. And speed is excellent for me, although I'm running on an 2003 Mio device these days, so hardware may be a factor - havent seen it running elsewhere yet.
I would have scored it higher but i had a bad experience upgrading a while back with CPL6! And I dont forget!
