I only look at the v1615 from the website, it probably the same as Orange.

I decided to jump ship and went with Orange - order by phone, the deal was good - Free ipod nano (offer ends 27th Nov). £35 - 800 x-network, 100 sms and unlimited landline. Because I have also got an Orange account, I just add the phone to the same account which allow 2 phones to call each other FREE. Lastly I am on Orange broadband & wireless, Call from home to orange mobiles are free. So ended with lots of FREE calls. Will call o2 to see whether they will give me a free upgrade for iPhone orelse I will end my contract.

Once I get the phone, will try to ask Orange customer service to give me the unlock code (does anyone manage to get it through Orange?)

Thanks guys for all your replies...

Re: Xda Stellar Review

Orange will give you the unlock code but it will take about a fortnight to come through, but who knows why. This is according to other Orange Kaiser users.

Thumbs up Re: Xda Stellar Review

Wo hoo!

Just got mine and I must say I am impressed. Ok, the case is a bit rubbish, but they give you a screen protector in the retail package.

I was a bit dissapointed with the box as I was expecting one like my orbit, but once I opened it, the device blew me away! (The box has a nice magnet to hold it shut)

The stylus is not shiny like the orbits, but it is a bit longer so that is good! I will post back when I have used the device a bit more.

Anyway, I am off to install me programs, I have been waiting for this device for months on O2, finally I have it and I am a happy bunny!

Just had a look on the application cd, and it comes with blackberry connect as well as sprite backup and spb gprs monitor, for those who are interested

Talking Re: Xda Stellar Review

Ok, I have had a good play with it now.

The newness has rubbed off already, but I do like it! I have owned several XDA's before (wizard, universal, hermes & artemis) and this is the best one by far!

There are plenty of reviews regarding the kaiser hardware, and the one here is very good, all I will add is that I think the keyboard is not as good as those on hermes & wizard.

But the device is so small, barely larger than an orbit and the silver on the front looks fantastic.

The camera is the best I have seen on an XDA so far.

With regards to the ROM and software I was pleasantly suprised to see the lack of O2 bloatware, only the O2 custom task manager which I disabled and replaced with the HTC task manager.

I had HTC today and touch cube running on the device in no time.

TomTom 6 installed without any of the problems that I had heard of.

The faster processor certainly makes the device a lot quicker than the orbit I have been using.

However, I have now signed the petition over at XDA developers, as the video drivers in this ROM are no better than the other kaiser ROM's.

Video playback is worse than on the wizard. When I tried morphgear I got 30fps and could tell the device was getting caned, so decided the Stellar is not up to SNES emulation at the moment.

I gave WorldCard a whirl, it is excellent, when somebody extracts it from the ROM, I advise you all grab a copy!

There is a huge amount of space to install programs on this thing!

The headset remote that comes with the stellar is top notch too!

If you have been waiting for this like I was, you will not be dissapointed when it turns up!

Re: Xda Stellar Review

Glad you are happy with your machine. O2 have certainly come up trumps here as far as I'm concerned. Strangely enough I found the keyboard to be the most usable yet.

Smile Re: Xda Stellar Review

Hi Boz,

Unfortunatley, I was already using TCPMP when testing the video playback

I had a play with the settings and couldnt manage to get it going that well, it was just about passable with lower bitrate videos, but nothing was a smooth as it was on my wizard or universal. It is better when reading off the memory card, but I find that streaming canes it a little bit too much!

Do you have any tips on specific settings within TCPMP to get it working sweet?

I hope they do something about the video drivers for it, enough people are moaning!

I turned everything on and managed to drain the battery in just under two hours

I am getting used to the keyboard more now, just gotta remember not to have the screen up! I have now found that the speaker location could be better, its a bit quiet when you have it resting on something.

Anyway, I am off to look for a nice black theme.

Talking Re: Xda Stellar Review

Hi there just received my stellar today, not got it fully going yet, seems better than the orbit which i have just now, as i liked the keyboard on the Xda mini s, so this is an added bonus.

Have just downloaded my copy of pocket informant 2007, hope this does not crash as it did on the orbit lots of times will 2008 be more stable??

I am used to tomtom on my orbit, but 02 forgot to send me my copy of co pilot and a new sim card to use 3g, but it will come tomorrow. Looks good to me though.
