Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

This is one of the best reviews i've read on an XDA and i've researched everyone i've had to find out its limitations before i upgraded.

I'm due to upgrade again in mid april and have been really impressed by the orbit 2's reviews so far and this has clinched it for me.

I am really disappointed though that O2 haven't included the HTC home application, i think it looks great especially the large clock.

Is it gonna be an easy task for me to get the HTC app or am i stuck with the O2 equivalent?

Also are there any apps to create themes as i'd want rid of the blue O2 one and a black one in its place? i did used to use the old microsoft theme generator however changing orientation is a problem for this.

Thanks and once again great review.

Welcome Spilla, Thanks for your comments!

You can easily add the HTC Home application. Have a search on here for the details. There are lots of threads and links to the downloads.

Again we have had some recent threads on the subject. Do a quick search on ThemeGen CE as it will allow you to do various things with regards to themes.

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

First of all, thank you for for an excellent review. I bought the orbit 2 last week on my o2 upgrade. On first impressions I am very impressed with it and it does nearly everything I want and I intend to buy a 8gb card for it. The only thing I am not happy with is the video play back through windows media player, it is sometimes jerky. I except this is a phone/pda and not a dvd player but is there anything I can do to improve this?

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

It depends what sort of video you are trying to play back, both in size and encoding?

Hi Paul, go to the thread here (!! (UPDATED) TCPMP v0.81 unofficial hybrid media player + all codecs here !!) and use the TCPMP video/audio player and you will be fine.

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

Thanks Boz and Windows for the quick reply, I'll give it a try, to answer your question Windows, I'm using spb dvd to 'backup' dvds I have bought to play back on the orbit 2 when I am away with work, thus I was hoping I did'nt need to take any other media players with me.
