Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

Paul, if you are trying to play full size DVD's you may need to shrink them first to play correctly. There is a free video file shrinker included in the first post of the TCPMP player, and the quality is still excellent.

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

Mobile DVD does recode to the right resolution, but selecting the divx option and using Coreplayer or TCPMP gives much better results!

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

The linked page has a download link mark 'Here'- maybe you've already found that? Anyway, download it to the PC, or directly to the Orbit2 (it is about 2.5MB in size). As it is a zip file, you need to extract the tcpmp.cab file from the zip to your PC or to a folder on the Orbit. If you extracted it on the pc, now copy the cab file to the Orbit using ActiveSync. Once on the Orbit, just locate the file with File Explorer, and tap it's name to run the installer.

Do the same with the WMA/WMV files if needed and all should be sweet

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

Hello,

quick question. IN the beginning of your review the device home page was pretty standard with all the icons very small. However, by the time the photos progressed starting from GOING LARGE the home page looked completely different.

I 've been trying to get my device to display the clock in large mode as well as the weather as shown in your photos.

Please explain how the home page was changed.

thanks

Boz and Neilm, Thank you for your help, tcpmp is now working fine on my orbit 2 and the results are impressive compared to mediaplayer.

Regards

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

Yes- it does havew WiFi 802.11G, though bthe speeds are a bit less than you will see on a PC.

With the correct software, you can play Youtube videos over WiFi- see other posts about this, but the best alternatives are TCPMP (which has a youtube plug-in) and Coreplayer (which has a youtube interface built in)

Hi marvmikey, welcome to 4WM.
The Orbit 2 is a very popular device at the moment for those who like smaller, slimmer, lighter devices without keyboards. If you would lilke a keyboard then take a look at the review of the Stellar/Kaiser.
I suggest going to the Introductions section of the forum and start a new thread telling us about what you want to use your device for and what your priorities are, and then members will be able to contribute suggestions for you to consider.
