Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

yes all the setting are at the highest, i have even been back to the o2 shop we took 2 new phones out, and the screens was impossible to see. the old xda no problem thay have just missed i think 2 simple lines of instruction out of the soft ware on the new xda orbit2 which is on the old one, i have even taken photos of the old and the new phone at the same stages of unlock, to show o2 the problem (you can clearly see the difference on the screens ) o2 say there is not a problem ????????????? i say try and unlock the phone in daylight. i have even phoned htc who make the phone they say do not lock the phone what a joke.

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

The dimming of the screen when locked seems to be implemented in a lot of new ROMs, best solution is to use a third party locking system.

Volume on the Orbit 2 is the loudest I've come across in all the years of using Pocket PCs. Are you sure you have it fully turned up, both on the device and in TomTom?

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

can you help me how can i see the screen to unlock in daylight on my orbit 2 ? the orbit 1 back light lights up when pressed for around 10 secs so you can see the screen in day light the new orbit 2 does not do this, which makes it impossible to see in day light, i nearly smashed to damm thing up the other day when outside all day and trying to use the phone might as well use as a land line in doors!!!!!!!!!.

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

I do not use the standard screen lock on my Orbit 2 I use Slide2Unlock and have no probems in the daylight as it stays lit longer and is fully customisable, find it here (Slide2Unlock better than the default Windows screen lock, and customisable too!)

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

Most properly the best review of any device I have browsed.

I do like this device but when i have had the O2 and the original in hand - I much prefer the HTC housing.

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

I am the opposite, much preferring the rounder corners of the O2 version!

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

Cheers Windoze - a high compliment! Must admit I've held both and for me the rounded edges of the Orbit 2 score over the sharp edged HTC housing.
