Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

But, if you want to do fancy phone call stuff like conferencing lots of people, putting a call on hold while taking another, sending texts to lists of people or if you want reception in marginal areas or you want one of the best video cameras on a phone, then the N95 delivers, but with the big downside of consuming battery at a hell of a rate, especially when using GPS. The Orbit 2 is a lot more versatile than the N95, but there are good reasons why some people would prefer the N95.

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

maybe it's just a personal thing, but I would see the lack of hardware buttons for softkeys as a negative.

I prefer using the hardware softkey buttons rather than the actual bottom of the screen.

personal preference I suppose though

That was my initial thought over the soft keys and lack of buttosn, but now if I go back to the Stellar it feels as if it has way too many buttons and controls.

I love running windows on my phone and syncing with my desktop, I like the idea of having GPS, I love the high res screen on the nokia but I also like the idea of syncing itunes with the iphone and watching movies... so... any ideas or comments?

Thanks in advance.

What's the "Video flash light"? I can't see anything like an LED on the back of the unit?

This device is just 230400 pixels short of being absolutely perfect. I really wish HTC would start building VGA displays in their devices!

Great review, best QVGA device out there and it's casing and colour look soooo much nicer than the HTC branded version. Finally some devices with 128 Megs ram (which should be the minimum) Just wish it had a VGA display

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

Well spotted about the 'Video Flash Light' - it was a mistake in the specification I used so I've now removed that from the review.

Agreed if this was VGA it would be completely awesome-er .....

Re: O2 Xda Orbit 2 Review

I've been reading conflicting info on the specs of the Xda O2 Orbit 2. i understand the review posted here was with a pre-production model. i attempted to validate the info on O2's website but their version of the specs is limited. I would be most grateful if one of you (lucky) Orbit 2 owners with the UK version of the phone can confirm the following specs are correct:
  • HSDPA/UMTS: 2100 MHz (Europe), 850/1900 MHz (USA)
  • GSM/GPRS/EDGE: Quad-band 850, 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz
thanks in advance for your responses.
