The imate forums are full of people who've installed the rom and said that it's now the phone that it should have been out of the box. I'd have to agree with that. As for the HTC 3D stuff, I've always found HTC's attempts to override the Today interface to be too feature anemic to stay. I always end up installing a few things to make my own custom setup or just return to SPB Mobile Shell.
As for the screen quality, I'd love to see something more the size of my x51v, but it's still great. No real complaints about redraw or color tint and it does seem to be more responsive than the Tilt was even with the XDA guys hacking away...which seems even more impressive to me since it's having to deal with 4 times the resolution.

I always thought the same about the Today screen stuff from HTC but the new Touch3D stuff is excellent. It fits my needs perfectly and looks sweet.
Well, hopefully someone with some rom experience will get a 9502 and port a diamond rom over, or a kaiser rom, since they're more or less the same hardware. That's what most of us have been pushing for (without much luck) just so we can get some video playback improvements to the device. Right now you can't smoothly play a 640x480 video on a device with built-in video out.
I was eagerly awaiting release of this device but it took too long. Now we already have the likes of Touch Pro, Omnia and Xperia to be released soon. Even though this is good device but it will be very difficult to compete with other new devices and the way iMate is going doesn't look like a good investment. mobeetech
Yeah, Imate is really looking like a sinking ship these days. However, until HTC puts out a true quad-band Touch Pro, which looks to be months away for the US still, I'm happy with this device. That gives Imate some time to rework the rom into something great. It's too bad that the advertising in the US is almost zero for the 9502.
I think they did a bit for the Ultimate 8150 but other than that I can't remember seeing anythign for the entire ultimate range. A shame, because the devices have a lot of good points.
