Re: O2 Xda Mini S Review

Also, anyone know why Orange decided against launching what looks like a terrific product in the UK?

Well, if the Magician (MDA Compact, O2 XDA Mini) is anything to go by they'll realise it's cool in about 6 months and release it then!

Not yet, but I should do soon. T Mobile just phoned me about the contract for my MDA Compact which expires next month and offrered me a Vario upgrade for £5 P&P, on my existing 50 minutes and 5Mb tariff. They wanted an 18 month contract I'm waiting until they commit themselves to that in writing as it sounds suspiciously good (and I'm wondering if they've realised I just reduced my contract minutes and Mb) but I expect to have an effectively free Vario to play with next week, woo-hoo.
Will have to investigate how much these web and walk tariffs are to compare.

I looked around about two weeks ago, and if you use data the Web n Walk tariffs were easily the best on the market.

Re: O2 Xda Mini S Review

Yeah, I know the web and walk tariffs are good, but it looks like they want to offer me my existing terms which are more expensive. OTOH Web n Walk is 18 months, which I don't want. Some digging and haggling to be done I think.
But I'm happy because the opening offer is better than I'd expected.

I'm pretty sure that if you check the T-Mobile website there were Web N Walk offers on 12 month contracts too.

EDIT - I just checked and I'm talking rubbish. It was the Relax tarriffs that were 12 months.

Seriouly tempted after reading thi review and seeing my friends Mini S today. BUT and for me its a big but... If only it had 3G for me it would be awesome. I love my Exec as Im always making the most of my unlimited 3G connection but its size had never been an issue until I was green with envy at seeing his Mini S. Fingers crossed maybe the next incarnation will achieve built in 3G!

Even more tempting I would think now that O2 have brought the online price down to £49.99 on any pay monthly tariff.
