Woah, that's a serious bargain!

It is a bargain, but needs careful evaluation against the T Mobile web and walk tariffs which are better. At the moment I think T Mobile have the better deal for high data users, O2 for lighter users.

I agree. Your contract must be due for renewel now Cyc. Mine is. I think I might cancel though. TMob have no phones I want at the moment.

Yes, my contract is up next month. TMobile rang me up, I said how much for a Vario, they said free on existing terms, I said (mentally) whoopee! I'm comparing my contract with web n walk, over the 18 months they are the same cost to within a fiver. The differences are that mine would only be 12 months whereas web n walk is 18. Also Web n walk has higher allowances for data and minutes, but historically I wouldn't have used them.

So when TMobile call back I shall be playing the renewing in February when no-one else does for all I can to haggle me a better deal. Not too seriously hard though, as O2s deals don't come close.

I love my Exec as Im always making the most of my unlimited 3G connection but its size had never been an issue until I was green with envy at seeing his Mini S. Fingers crossed maybe the next incarnation will achieve built in 3G!
Couldn't agree more Mr X, they can add a VGA screen too while they're at it!

Re: O2 Xda Mini S Review

Well I was very seriously tempted and took the plunge yesterday, on T-Mobile. This was one helluva deal. Given that my two previous non-phone iPAQs had cost around £300 each, a Vario for FREE on a Web'n'walk tariff that costs me £8 per month LESS than I'm currently paying AND gives me 40 meg of data a month really does seem too good to be true. (Though it is an 18 month contract - but fair price to pay I think.) Still getting to grips with the machine, but so far so good.
By the way, the Mini S/Vario in its i-mate K-JAM guise wins top prize in the March PC Pro review of PDA Phones.

Oh, and I've managed to set-up the BT pairing with the TomTom Go 700, so handsfree should be alright. Don't seem to have the correct internet settings for TomTom's premium services like Traffic, but as I don't use them...

Well if I were to end up with a Mini S AND and Exec then mebbe! But I did really like the Exec when I had it and the 3G data rocked my world, so we'll see
