So if I'm not likely to use BT voice dialling, is there much point bothering? It doesn't give us g on wifi, for instance?

Unless you have an issue with the device, I would never recommend upgrading. G is still not activated in this ROM, although it will see a G network, it just won't connect to it.

There have been a few discussions on XDA-Devs about the b/g issues, and even in ROMs which supposedly enable g, the data transfer rate is still at b levels.

The thought is that it may only spoof being g to allow connection to "g only" routers, but is in fact b in operation.

That would make sense. I do think 11g transfer rates are unecessary on devices such as these given the extra power requirements. I'd far rather mine was "only" capable of 11mbps but had decent battery life. After all, these things have precious little RAM so you can only be writing to external memory cards. To the best of my knowledge, even 120X SD Cards aren't capable of anywhere near 54MBPS

URL for XDA Developers here.

Bassey: 120X SD cards can acheive a "real world" write speed of 18MB/Sec, which is 144Mb. So theoretically, 54Mb from an 802.11g connection should be within tolerance.

Re: O2 Xda Mini S Review

Dave,

What mods need to be done to the camera to make it the same as the Magician?

Re: O2 Xda Mini S Review

There was a group of default settings on the Magician which just seemed to be better than the defaults. These settings can also almost exactly be used on the Wizard. I got the Magician ones from XDA-Devs and converted them over. I'll try and look the settings out tomorrow for you.
