O2 Xda Mini S Review
We need to compare your rom version with AK's.* To see if there's a difference.

cheers
Howard
It's a bit of a tricky one the ROM selection to be honest H. I've gone back to the O2 one, for performance reasons, but it stings a little that it's only wireless b.

The M500 is a sweet device, and the M600 looks to be even better, with WiFi and WM5.
But my experiences with Eten's customer service would put me off, unless they had a UK based service agent.
My M500 was supplied with a faulty radio ( I bought it from the original buyer because he thought he was simply in a poor reception area); it went back to Eten in Taiwan for repair, and 5 weeks later was returned with another fault; so back to Taiwan for 4 weeks, then returned with the 2nd fault no better (obviously no quality control checking because the 2nd fault was obvious!); so back again to Taiwan where as far as I know, 8 weeks later it is still sitting.
Smart Devices are doing all they can from this end, but Eten are not responding to requests for info.

That sucks Neil. Have you had harsh words with them yet?

Sent Smart Devices another email this morning, but really their hands are tied if Eten won't respond.
As I was not the original purchaser, my legal position is a little more limited.
Have suggesed they might like to replace it with an M600, but reading between the lines, I suspect Smart Devices have dropped the Eten range due to warranty problems.

Yeah but when? It's not going to be worth an awful lot soon. They depreciate so quickly.

So how different does the Wizard feel? I really like the small size of the Magician. I wouldn't use a keyboard on a Wizard at all often. When I held an Exed for a few minutes I found the keys horribly frustrating because there isn't space to touch type, and the Wizard keys must be even closer together. I'm a semi-competent touch typist, so the problem is I don't know where the keys are to do one finger typing, I'm probably quicker with the letter recogniser.
Will probably depend on deals, and of course I'm still waiting for one app to do a WM5 version (and the developer isn't answering my emails, which doesn't fill me with confidence).

Re: HTC Prophet Reviewed
It feels different. Although the Magician is small I find it too thin to grip very well (still 10 times better than the larger devices but not perfect). The extra depth and tapered edged of the Wizard actually make holding it feel more natural. The only time I notice the extra depth is in my Jeans pocket, when the denim feels more stretched. In a coat, jacket or trouser pocket it doesn't feel any different.
I have to admit I was dubious about the keyboard too, but I've got well into it. Use for emails SMS, and it's great for games.
It'll be interesting to see how Howard gets on with his when he gets it tomorrow. See what he thinks of the size, and the keyboard after a week.
