I've no idea but I doubt it as if the PDA is not designed to handle it why build it into the software for our platform?

It might be a question to ask to TomTom support though!

This device is to enable TMC on TomTom's "Go!" range of products. These are the self contained GPS devices.

If you purchase TomTom Version 5 Software for your Loox N560 then, to the best of my knowledge, the software is capable of downloading TMC files over an active internet connection (such as over a bluetooth link to a mobile phone).

Re: Fujitsu-Siemens Loox N560 Review

I've not had any response from support (as yet). I find the whole thing beyond belief...
facts:
> Loox 520 supports FM TMC + Navigon (?correct name?)
> TomTom Go supports FM TMC - therefore the software must understand FM TMC signals
> Loox 560 supports the FM TMC cable (but no official support from Navigon)
> Loox 560 supports TomTom 5

Given these "facts" I find it amazing that it's so difficult to get a straight answer (or explanation) as to why I can't simply buy a Loox 560 + TMC cable and some form of navigation software.

PS I can't stand mobile phones and really don't want to pay money to any form of subscription services for TMC when I should be able to get it free over FM!

Indeed an heck of a lack of information, the problem is it may well work but I don't think anyone has tested that combination and until someone does......

Remember, the N560 is pretty much brand new still. It always takes a little while for accessories to be released or updated to support the new stuff.

That's the downside of living on the bleeding-edge!

Very true, mind you from what I read the number of new N560 owners is growing greatly. It seems that a lot of new owners are springing up from reading glowing reviews and from seeing the device in operation.

The speed is still awesome. Earlier today I had occasion to use the JasJar for a few hours and it was so painfully slow after the LOOX!

I can definitely vouch for the speed, the N560 is in full use already.... I'm going to give Spb fullscreen keyboard a whirl today, I need to investigate input options now I'm keyboardless!

I still recommend FITALY or TenGO as fast input systems Jim.

Which one do you prefer, I did watch the Tengo video, but can you use it with your fingers rather than the stylus?

Cheers,

Jim
