Better than a scratched screen though buddy.

Thanks for confirming Dave. I got a Brando with mine and forgot that it had the freebie in the box.

Another question... Not sure if anyone else has this or have I missed something in the manual but on my Athena when it goes into power save mode, the screen turns off BUT two of the three buttons on the front of the device remain lit. i.e the OK and Start buttons stay on but the Internet button goes out. The only way to turn these off is to use the off button rather than allowing it to "sleep"

Hopefully that makes sense but has anyone else noticed this (im using the HTC Athena) or is it a fault?

Re: Review: T-Mobile Ameo (HTC Athena)

No, there's no IRDA, but the beam settings also affect bluetooth beaming.

Re: Review: T-Mobile Ameo (HTC Athena)

That's quite interesting as I cut and pasted the spec. I've just been back now and it says not supported. Maybe something they changed late on in production? I'll edit the review. Thanks for picking that up!

Re: T-Mobile Ameo (HTC Athena)

Hey Dave,

Yours was the first review I read of the Advantage. At the time I didn't notice that you had posted a picture of what the image looks like while using a projector. As it is still a little bit difficult to tell, I'd like to ask - I live making powerpoint presentations so I wonder, is the image quality when using a projector comparable to a pc? Or is the resolution worse due to VGA out?

Thank you!

David

Re: T-Mobile Ameo (HTC Athena)

I thought the image was pretty impressive over a projector. In my opionion you could definitely use it to do professional presentations. It's easy enough to test for yourself though, simply connect up a laptop to your projector at 640x480 and view your slides through it. The Athena will give you the same results as this. Pocket Powerpoint does a pretty good job at reproducing the slide at this resolution.
