Or is the resolution worse due to VGA out?

Thank you!

David
I have presented on the Ameo and it's quite viable (It's my one of my presentations Dave was using BTW).

I am right in saying Powerpoint resizes the presentations to fit aren't I Des? I'm sure it does but not 100%.

Pocket Powerpoint does a pretty good job at reproducing the slide at this resolution.
Thank you, Dave. Hadn't thought of resetting the computer's resolution to VGA as it wasn't one of the five projection options available on my IBM T42. I will try that.

You bring up another issue - which is the maximum resolution possible through the software. Is VGA the maximum from powerpoint mobile or equivalent mobile software?
I ask because I saw last night that the new i-mate ultimates will have Direct Video XGA out, in i-mate's own words: "This allows the device to drive computer displays and projecters with content directly." What is the highest resolution possible for powerpoint mobile, conduits pocket slides or similar. Do they not support higher than vga resolution.

Very best regards,

David

Re: T-Mobile Ameo (HTC Athena)

VGA is the highest the device will go natively, although that doesn't mean you have to create the powerpoint in VGA. Powerpoint will downscale the file to fit. I believe VGA is the highest resolution the device can output though. XGA is 1024x768, VGA is 640x480 so with XGA you'd be getting almost double the resolution. Again it would be interesting to see if this is a native format or some form of interlacing.

Can anyone tell me exactly how to find the review of this device? Clicking on the " (T-Mobile Ameo (HTC Athena))Click here to read the entire review" link just takes me back to this thread :-/

Hi GremlinUK,

Try page 1 of the thread. The review is the first post. All subsequent comments have been posted behind it and we're now on the fifth page.....

Which page we are on depends on how many posts per page you set in user control panel, I'm only on page 3. The review is definitely on page 1 though.

Re: T-Mobile Ameo (HTC Athena)

Thanx Dave excellent review - i luv mine running win 6 and sync to Windows mobile media 6.1 on Vista - works well.

I had trouble connecting in to a win server 2003 network on wi-fi. Had to change the router WPA password, connect the Ameo and get an IP address and then connect the other network laptops. Leave the Ameo DNS address at 0.0.0.0 and networks card connects to work. the host name is ameo.[domain] but you can change this name on the device (if more than 1 ameo connected to the network).

Hope this saves a lot of bother for small business users.

Mark

Screen protector is OK if you are careful installing it by starting at one end and while holding the other end up slowly eliminate the air bubbles.
