It could be, I'm just glad neil sees it too, no problems with the native apps or Exchange though.

Re: Review: Vito Winterface

Installed this over the weeked. Really impressed with the speed. I think I'm going to be using it as an alternative to the Touch Cube thing. The only thing I don't like, as with everyone else it seems, is the auto-lock but I see that is being altered so I can live with it for now. Only had one "Accidental" launch so far but would be nice to sort that as well.

I currently have page one set up with all my mot used apps. Page two with my most used contacts and I will set up a page three with less used apps.

Re: Review: Vito Winterface

I can confirm that the new version of Winterface (v1.1) appears to solve all the little niggles people had. The gesture has changed. In several days of running, including dragging around maps etc, I have not activated it accidentally. They have also provided an option to disable to lock screen.

Additionally, there is a new gesture to close any app you are in. You can add shortcuts to files. The calendar icon shows how many appointments you have coming up in the next few days. Tapping on it shows a translucent window with those upcoming appointments.

I'd say it's a bit slower starting up but just as quick once running and the changes do make a big difference, particularly the new gesture and the removal of the lock screen.

I don't know how much memory it was taking up before, but MemoryMaid now reports this version is taking up 2.1MB - and that is with 3 pages full of icons.

I like the app's looks, but on my device, I have to make lightning-quick taps for it to do anything. Kinda makes finger use out of the question.

That's weird. I find the opposite is true. If I just tap quickly and lightly then the icon "highlights" for a fraction of a second but no action is triggered. I have to properly press the icon in order for anything to happen.

Yep I saw the latter, took too much 'force' to trigger the icons into action.

far prefer the new versions upturned tick than the original swipe to bring it up - but its coming off again until they remove the automatic lock feature which jusr drives me nuts.

IIRC in the options you can turn the auto-lock off.
