A day!
That's rediculous. I don't get any proper spam. The only stuff I receive (maybe 2 a day) I can trace back to some product I've bought or service I used and a simple "click here to unsubscribe" stops it.

No, not a day Spamarrest keeps messages it identifies as Spam on its system for 7 days, to allow genuine senders, or the subscriber to authorise the message and allow it through. So, my current 420 spam emails are for 7 days.
I think you have been very lucky! I've had 2 of my email addresses for over 7 years, and they have built up quite a lot of spam; also the Lineone and NTL ones get a lot of automatically generated messages, which use randon email addressing.
Beware of the "Click to Unsubscribe" links. Some of the more persistent spammers will harvest these responses and add them to "known to be genuine" email lists. Unless you are sure you are responding to a legitimate organisation, its best to just ignore messages.
