Great review Bassey, I'm not a great walking fan but this software looks like it would be awesome to use.....

I love the GPS and mapping abilities of the PPC platform...

Here is (hopefully) a screenshot of the 3D feature. I'm working on a video of it but, with the move to Vista, I no longer have all the little utilities I used to have under XP!

wow, that even looks great on the Exec via the 4WM mobile portal (I'm on the train to London!!)....

I'm afraid not. The 3D rendering is PC only.

Maybe when PPC's are sold with graphics chips as standard?

Still looks cool though. I'd love to be able to get a map of the mountain we're skiing down, trace the routes and then map it onto this. That would be SO cool. Any idea as to whether foreign maps are available?

I'm sorry, I haven't a clue. I believe there is an enquiry form on there somewhere where you can enquire about maps for certain areas. They are pretty good to get back to you with answers.

I know they do support lots of different image formats for third party maps, but I believe you need to georeference them which (If I remember my GIS module at University) involves picking points on the map and telling the software what the grid location is for that map and what scale the map is. Once you've told it enough points it can figure out the rest from there through interpolation.

I'll drop them a line and see if they can offer me anything.
