The attachment to the flip is quite flexible and I've found when typing in the air that it'll sit out the way quite nicely. The whole typing with the Mini S on the desk is a totally alien concept to me. I've never done it. That said, after a conversation with windows about Mini S vs Exec keyboards I did a couple of line test yesterday and the flip doesn't interfere. It's pretty nicely cushioned.
