I think I paired the unit with the BT. Set the serial port to com 6. Then waited until the TomTom unit had a lock, then startup Active Trace. Go into the GPS screen Select com 6 and 19200 baud and you should see loads of data zipping through on the status box and the satelites on the "radar". As below:-
