Hi

I installed the Schaps Kaiser 4.31 rom a week or so ago - got some very nice touches.

However I've just noticed that the sound/notifications icon is missing (I think it used to be in settings). Probably nothing to do with the Schaps rom but wondered if you could tell me how to get it back!

I can't remember if it was there or not as I am running another rom on my Hermes at the moment! I would have thought it was as I have not seen any reports on it being missing, have you tried a hard reset?

Did a hard reset and it appeared again - only to disappear of course when I did a restore from backup

So I did another hard reset to see if I could identify the programme for sounds and notifications so that I could make a short cut

However I couldnt see a programme file that looked like it. Incidentally the settings folder from windows/start menu was apparently empty (I had ticked show all files)

Do you know what it is called?

Hi Richard, it could be the restore from backup causing the problem. What exactly are you restoring? If it's a complete backup you could be overwriting critical files that are updated during the ROM flash.

Restoring after a flash is one of those particularly tricky areas...

Yes you are probably right Jim, especially if the current rom on the device is a different version to the one used to make the backup it won't work as it should.

Hi

The backup was done with Sprite Backup the night before so I guess its restoring all the same files including the registry.

However I have managed to get round the problem - I use Spb Pocket Plus and was able to instal a short cut to sounds and notifications using that on one of the tabs

Hi that1sexynerd and welcome to 4WM

You do not need to extract anything you just run it as it is from your desktop while connected to activesync/WMDC. I take it you have installed the must have Hard SPL to prevent bricking your device?
