Acer M900 Bug - Incoming SMS 4 Hours Early

I've never had this problem before and I have this device configured exactly as my previous device. I've checked my time zone. My messages appear as the correct time compared to the device clock but any message sent to me appears as exactly 4 hours prior to when my device received it. I just sent a test message to myself to verify and sure enough, my SMS "Test 11.28" showed 7.28 as the received time.

I'll be installing the light ROM soon. Hopefully this wil fix it.

I always thought that time came from the SMS server of your service provider. Could be wrong.

To confirm whether it is your service provider or the phone change the time zone send a test text and see if the problem still occurs.

Thanks for the tip. I changed the device time + 4 hours and sent a message. The sent time matched my current device time but there was no change in the receiving time. It was 4 hours earlier than the actual local time. I then changed my device time back to normal and changed the time zone from -5 to -1. Same thing. Sent time matches device time and received time is 4 hours earlier than the local time. Hmmm... Gonna try in my Trinity again...

Well, it seems the Trinity is fine, as I remembered. I'm guessing that no one else is noticing this problem.

Well, I'll add this to my 'test first' list and see how it goes after installing the light ROM.

Looks like your service provider is out of sync to me.

I tested the Trinity (by taking the SIM out of the M900) right after the time zone tests and it was fine. I presume you missed that. Unless you saw that post and still think it's the carrier that's the problem.

It is a weird problem, and one that doesn't have an easy answer.
