Thumbs up F900 Clean boot / Hard reset the correct way

F900 Clean boot / Hard Reset!!!!

The correct way to clean boot / hard reset your F900 is as follows:

1) Hold the "+" , "-"key and "Power Button" together and press the "Reset" button with your stylus.
2) Once you see under the Acer logo a RED sentence "Clean Boot", then you are successfully clean booted your device.

I hope this helps you F900 owners!!

It came from someone quite high up the foodchain too, and is apparently their tried and tested method. I will get back to them and politely let them know!!

I agree with netboy - that procedure just does a soft reset.

re: F900 Clean boot / Hard reset the correct way

UPDATE F900 "Clean boot":

I have had another message back from my contact saying remember that the power button is on the left hand side of the device facing you, and not on the upper right hand side, and this has been confusing people.

There may have been a problem across languages and my contact has now suggested the following to clean boot the F900:

1) Hold the "+" , "-"key and "Power Button" together and press the "Reset" button with your stylus.
2) Once you see under the Acer logo a RED sentence "Clean Boot", then you are successfully clean booted your device.

I hope this is the correct way for you F900 owners, please let me know how you get on.

Good to hear it works!!!

I will update the first post.

I think Acer's definition of the various resets differ to our interpretation.

Re: F900 Clean boot / Hard reset the correct way

boz, any chance you could ask your contact what the procedure is for flashing the F900 from an SD card is? I've tried the old eten method (copy the temp.bin and USBDLUpdate_Console.exe files to the fat16 formatted 1gb sd card, and then enter bootloader mode). But the F900 just says "found sd card", and never initiates an update.

Thanks for any help!
Justin
