Re: F900 Lite Rom

Once again, thanks Justin.

I never read directions, but in my early playing around I bricked a couple of devices and caused serious errors on some of my computers. Now I make sure I have detailed instructions on everything. I'm still quite the novice, but also have wasted too much money messing around too much.

Thanks again!

Re: F900 Lite Rom

Just to make sure, my PDAUpdate in the tempfolder is a .ise file. Do I just change the extension to msi and run?

After I did that the msi didn't run properly. It said ##IDS_IsWelcomeDlg_WelcomeProductName##

I replaced it with the ise file and ran the euu.exe. It however said that it could not fine the USBDLUpdate_Console.exe, which is in the Temp File. Any Idea?

No, the pdaupdate.msi file is in the directory above the temp.dat file. That's the file you need to run. After that, change back into the TempFolder directory, and run the EUU.exe file.

Re: F900 Lite Rom

After installing all the programs again and shell 3, I have 133 MB of storage and about 29 MB of program memory.

I noticed some of the Acer Cabs reinstalled on the device despite pointing them to the storage card. They also aren't shown on the remove program list. Is there a way around that? I would be interested in playing with some programs more before I decide to keep them or not, but don't want to have to reflash to get everything off again.

Definitely interesting ideas, and they look pretty simple to impliment. The only problem is that I need to get flashing from the SD working before diving in too much further. I'm getting to the point where I could brick the phone, and need to be able to flash without the OS running (incase it bricks!)

Here's a link to a "lite" F900 ROM:
http://www.4shared.com/file/11515883...RBO4V_101.html

With this ROM, I had a total of 176.25MB free storage space, and 56.4MB free RAM after a clean boot.

After installing this, you'll probably want to install one or more of the ACER cabs to make the phone a bit more useable, you can get those here:

http://www.4shared.com/file/11516116...S_1002_EN.html

As soon as I get the flashing from the SD figured out, I'm going to remove the rest of the crap from the rom (Office mobile, the junk mms bitmaps and misc sample music and pictures that are installed).
