Well, that didn't go so well...

Tried to re-flash with a "lite" version of 1.009, and bricked the phone...

Not sure what happened, but for some reason, the acer updater didn't run correctly with my phone. So, I tried using the old updater, with the new temp.dat. The update proceeded normally, then when the phone when to restart, showed the logo screen, and scrolled it off of the screen, and "hung"

Sure wish we had a way to flash from the SD card...guess I get to find out how to return my phone now!!

WTF is acer doing!
i thought they fixed the S.O.D ( screen of death) on new rom.
when you install programs to microSD, S.O.D still exist!
going reflash back to turbo_4v 1.02 lite rom.

Hi Justin, i reflash using the 1.009c updater using your "lite" temp file and it works. but the bootscreen version still remains 1.002

Well Clove has issued an RMA for the phone, so far those guys have been great. ...keeping fingers crossed that Acer can repair it!

@bornno1 - Not sure what you're trying to do there, unless you've cooked up a "lite" version of the 1.009c firmware, shwiching the "updater" wouldn't change the firmware.

Thats very disapointing news

The *** seems to be the only really bad issue with the phone i.e. one that makes it impossible to use as a phone.

If people are really fed up with the device because of this and you live in the UK, you are covered under UK consumer rights and can return the phone for a full refund (and I dont care what Expansys "over 10 days, return to manufacturer BS says).

I will be sticking with it however, as pretty much all new devices suffer from this on the first rom release - in my experience.

is this ROM any good?
Currently I am using WM6.5 ROM, but the memory for program is always runs out.

i tried and nothing much, only decreased avail ram and updated GSM drivers thats all.
