Re: F900 Lite Rom

Acer FTP ( ftp://ftp.acer-euro.com/smartphone/f900/os_images/ ) has a new ROM 2.001.00EN Dated 24/09/09
Anyone knows what has changed since the previous release dated 09/09/09 ?
Can someone make a Lite ROM out of the latest build or even provide instructions on how someone can do it ??
Thanks

I think that Acer have only removed a subfolder in the unzipped exe.

Re: F900 Lite Rom

Any results? I am desperately looking for a light ROM since IGO8.3 hangs, my current ROM is in French and the FM radio is not working at all. So I fear that I would need to do a reset, so why not using a RAM saving light ROM. Tell me your experiences and if possible tell me where I can get the files and the procedure to do it all safe.

Re: F900 Lite Rom

Installed a Lite version using the camera trick. Now it sometimes does not allow me to install certain applications (but trying it a couple of times over and over again in some cases it does install the applications), but - more annoying - I cannot use mp3 files as ringtones any longer. Any idea what I should do?

I believe I've seen it elsewhere, but please give a brief description about how to reset everything with the temp.dat file.

Thanks, I'm still a novice, so I want to be sure I know what I'm doing is correct.

Also, where do you get USBDLUpdate_Console.exe?

I noticed you were having issues in the other thread. Did Boz ever get back to you on the proper flash method?

Re: F900 Lite Rom

Did again a reset, bringing back Acer shell. Reinstalled all my programmes. Installed perfectly but after a while (it may be after the installation of Opera beta) it again gave me errors like 'not possible to install' a certain programme. However, it sometimes installs after trying it again. Perhaps this is a RAM problem? I installed all the soft with CAB files from my SD card.
PS: when you hold the camera button while doing a restore to default settings you enter into a diagnose menu for the interal memory, screen, etc. I feared that I had bricked my F900 when this popped up but removing the battery got it going allright.
