Bluetooth PAN

Hi,
I just recently tried going online via the Bluetooth PAN, didn’t work, luckily I was just trying at home.
The next thing I did was trying it with my older win mob phone, which worked, so I wonder if Bluetooth PAN is working with you.
BTW: I’m still using the first (1.002) Firmware.

You could try updating to the latest ROM, or maybe one of the cooked ROMs. I've read some users experience BT not working (error loading BT stack) in some ROM version, altough I think this is different from your problem. Personally, I used varavut's WM 6.1 21056 ROM, and ActiveSync via BT works great, although I didn't try it with BT PAN

Re: Bluetooth PAN

Start 'Internet Sharing' on your device and select 'Bluetooth PAN' in the first dropdown menu (and your carrier network in the second one, of course). Then, tap on 'Connect" in the left softkey. Wait for the data connection to your carrier to be active.

Now start the PAN connection on your PC/laptop's bluetooth software and select your device (which should have been paired to your PC/laptop beforehand). It should work.

Just my 2 cents...

Cheers!

Re: Bluetooth PAN

Thanks for the answers,
Well as I said before, the Bluetooth internet connection is working quite well with my older wm phone, so I know quite well how to use it, at least I think so

When I start the ICS on the F900 the phone connects to the computer via Bluetooth, but this connection is useless, has no Stanardgateway, no DNS... so no internet, that's my problem, a manually configured Gateway didn't work also.

Later I tried wmwifirouter, but this app didn't even find a Bluetooth device, although it's clearly present and working eg. working with a headset.

So my question again is: Can someone confirm that some other firmware? Thanks.
But it's not that important, because when I really need ICS, I can always use the USB cable.

Re: Bluetooth PAN

Sorry for insisting in my point, but, after ICS is active via Bluetooth PAN on your F900, have you specifically made the BT manager on your PC/laptop establish the PAN with it? You see, it works fine on my M900, and I don't quite see a reason why it would fail on the F900.

Re: Bluetooth PAN

Hi casouzaj, it's good to hear that it is working on your M900, but I wasn't successful, when I start the ICS I have to select a Bluetooth device to connect to, I tried to connect from the computer to the phone at this point ==> no way, the phone doesn't respond in this situation, so I selected the computer on the phone to start the ICS, then the phone connects to the computer via the BT Pan, but this connection is no good. Next thing I tried was the reconnect from the computer to the phone, there Is a question like "... Do your really want to disconnect and reconnect..." ==> press Yes, but the next thing that happens is that the ICS apps closes it self! BTW: My BT Manager is "IVT Corp Bluesoleil" and I'm not to happy with it

Re: Bluetooth PAN

I used IVT's BT stack a long time ago, but I still remember something about it (I use the Toshiba stack now). In the Bluesoleil application, there is a tab showing the available services, somewhere in the options menu. Make sure PAN is ticked. There is also a screen where you can assign each service to a host device. Make sure PAN is routed to your paired F900. In its main screen (the solar system ring), you'll see an icon representing PAN. Now, run ICS via BT PAN on your phone. It will establish a connection to your carrier and will keep waiting for a BT PAN connection to be made from your computer. Just click over the PAN icon, on the Bluesoleil ring on your computer.

If it still doesn't work, perhaps if you gave the Toshiba stack a shot...

Good luck!

Re: Bluetooth PAN

Thanks again for your reply,
Unfortunately I didn’t have the time for another try, will the Toshiba stack run with any other Bluetooth dongle?

Thx!

Re: Bluetooth PAN

You'll have to try it for yourself. You see, my laptop is HP (which has no built-in BT), and the Toshiba stack worked just fine with a generic mini BT dongle here.

If you don't happen to find the stack on their webiste, I could upload the version I have here for you, to some host out there. I have accounts in mediafire and 4shared. Could upload it to Rapidshare as well. Please, let me know if you need it.

Cheers!
