The Kupongo mobile coupon platform its launches beta site.

IRVINE, Calif., February 8, 2010—Skweezer, Inc., today announced that beta testing has commenced for Kupongo, its new mobile coupon platform.

Kupongo’s beta program will test user interface elements across a wide range of mobile platforms, focusing primarily on iPhone, Blackberry, Android and Symbian devices. Members of the Beta Group will assist the company in developing an application environment that is intuitive and easy to use, addressing one of the key barriers to mobile coupon adoption identified in recent studies by Juniper Research, Harris Interactive, and others.

"Developing a product for mobile devices can be challenging due to constraints in both screen size and input modality," said Kevin Perkins, CEO of Skweezer. "Our goal is to create an application environment that’s intuitive and easy to use for ‘Generation Y’ consumers who are familiar with downloading and using mobile apps, as well as their older counterparts who are currently clipping coupons out of their newspapers.”

The term “mobile coupons” refers to coupons that can be downloaded and later redeemed at a brick and mortar retail location directly from a consumer’s mobile phone. Mobile technologies such as GPS, MMS/SMS messaging, and microbrowsers significantly extend the medium of coupon marketing campaigns by directly interacting with on-the-move consumers closer to a purchase decision. Mobile coupons benefit the consumer by being searchable, location-aware, and easily available at any time or place.

About Kupongo:
Kupongo is an advertising network that allows businesses to upload, monitor, and evaluate coupon-based marketing campaigns. Kupongo’s mobile coupons are distributed to consumers’ mobile devices through direct search, e-mail, SMS messaging, online “local searches”, RSS feeds, and real-time geo-location services.

Hi guys, I need some help with my remote management apps.

I have used the included RDP program, and while it works, it has limitations. It will not go into Landscape mode, and if I select Full-Screen, the keyboard disappears. Not ideal for remote server administration. So either I'm missing a trick, or I need to find a better app.

I also tried to use Mobile PuTTY, but for some reason it does not work. Is there a reliable alternative out there?

Thanks for your help.

PPCGeeks announce Windows7 details

According to the announcement made by PPCGeeks...

According to the announcement made by PPCGeeks "All information detailed within may not be entirely official, although it is definitely the closest information we have heard on actually being real. Without wasting anymore time, lets jump into the nitty gritty."

The new UI will be shown at the Mobile World Congress 15/02/10.:p
The User Interface is based upon codename “METRO”. It will be very similar to the Zune HD User Interface.:p
Full Zune Integration.:p
Sync performed by Zune software - end of the line for WMDC.;)
App install only via Marketplace.
No Flash Support:(
No NetCF backward compatability.:(
No OEM interfaces allowed (SPB, Sense etc).:mad::mad::mad:
No Multi-task support.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

So in effect no Zune phone as such - all Win7 phones will be Zune Phones. But the cost in individuality and configuration looks positively awful. All the advantages over an iPhone are being dropped in favour of a MS version iPhone using Zune instead of iTunes.

If this is all true this is not going to be good :(.

Firstly, I know nothing about computers or netbooks, so if you have any advice, please make it as numpty friendly as possible. Thanks.

My son has an advent 4213. Unbeknown to me he has at some point decided he wanted Windows 7 and promptly downloaded it from who-knows-where! Apparently it then told him there was some problem with Realtek so he proceeded to download something else from who-knows-where. This was over a week ago, he has kept his netbook hidden as he was afraid he'd broken it (we appear to share the same view), so the details are sketchy, I'm sorry.

When we switch it on it goes to a black screen with American Megatrends on it. It says Primary Master Drive - ATAPI Incompatible press f1 to resume.

If I do that it asks for his password, put that in and it seems to spend ages trying to load before giving me a rather long message about some realtek stuff. Then at the bottom it says -

No DHCP or proxyDHCP offers were received.

PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM.

Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.

Please does anyone have any idea on where I begin with this or is it FUBAR?

Thanks in advance.

Hadn't heard about this before but it seems that Apple do not allow devs to use location based advertising.

""If your app uses location-based information primarily to enable mobile advertisers to deliver targeted ads based on a user's location, your app will be returned to you by the App Store Review Team for modification before it can be posted to the App Store."

More details here

However, it seems that definition of "location based ads" may be a bit broad as it also blocked Google from adding Google Latitude to its Iphone App.;)

Industry experts think Apple is about to announce (or is planning) a location based advertising service of its own. Don't you love that spirit of free market competition.

Hi,

My phone touch screen started working erratically a few days ago. Somehow I could manage to recalibrate the screen and then it started to function normally and alas the very next day the problem resurfaced and now I could not do nay thing since the when I click the start button it is not functioning and when I touch some icon another icon is activated and I am in a fix. When some advised me to hard reset it, i am unable to hard reset it and when I tried to do it, it boots normally. What would be the problem and what is the remedy.
