Windows Mobile 6 Upgrade for FSC N560/C550

Have you tried hard resetting before trying to flash? Don't forget to back up first though! Also, do you have the mains power connected to the USB adapter, as well as being plugged into your PC?

Finally, do you have the *latest* version of activesync?

Can't think of any other possible problems for now...

I tried hard resetting with no luck. Unfortunatly it isnt possible to connect a mains power adapter to the phone at the same time as the usb cable that connects it to the computer as they use the same slot on the bottom of the phone. Has me totally bamboozled... :S

Edit: And activesync is up to date at v4.5

I take it when you say 'phone' you really mean 'PDA'? The C550 doesn't have phone capability...

Also, unless I'm mistaken, the original connectors that came with your device included a USB cable that has a little socket built into the connector that accepts the power lead.

Have you had the device from new, or did you buy it second hand? Your sync cable should look like this one. Note the socket for the power supply integrated into the PDA connection.

I don't know if this is the reason for your flash failure, but it's worth investigating...

i download the N560.C550.WM6.Pups.777_Team.0.0.4.rar.
i tried your procedure but something is wrong with my device.
i receive --> The connected device is not a "Pocket LOOX 5xx"!
but i have a Loox c550........
It is on XP sp2 latest update and 4.5 activesync and works fine.
Any idea why ?

I have no idea what is the difference of the files below.
The first file cannot recognize my device.
The second one (only for C550 i suppose) completes the upgrade successfully.

Hi Aurciuolo,

I'm afraid I don't know the answer for sure. However, bear in mind that the regional settings and language of the N560 are defined by the firmware. All of the upgrade details in this thread deal with the firmware for the English language version. I know that some people have tried (successfully?) upgrading their N560s to other language versions...

I would expect that there is nothing in your German N560 that would prevent it from running the English language WM6 ROM.

If your N560 is already in German, and you don't understand German, then you probably don't have a lot to lose in trying the upgrade to the WM6 English language ROM...

However, the decision is yours to make (i.e. I don't know the answer for sure, and I can't make you any guarantees!).
