I've been wanting to run with SDHC cards for a while now, but not at the expense of the WiFi... Thanks for that info...

With regards to WM6.1, from reading the thread you pointed to, amongst others, it might be worth waiting to see if someone builds a ROM that has the SDHC driver built in...

I'm not yet convinced upgrading from WM6 to WM6.1 is worth the hassle otherwise.

Mind you, I'd still recommend users on WM5 to upgrade to one of the two ROM images.

Just stumbled upon this forum and thread and am looking to upgrade to WM 6.0 or 6.1 but I can't get hold of the FSC OEM file as the Russian site won't allow a download without login. Given my Russian is non existant, can anyone point me to where I can find this file. Once I have this, I am ready to go.

Hi SandyMac,

I wouldn't worry too much about the OEM package. It contains:

FSC Audio Path.cab
FSC GPS Locator.cab
FSC Lock.cab
FSC Mobile ZIP.cab
FSC Panning.cab
FSC Reg.cab
FSC System Info.cab
FSC Voice Recorder.cab

If you use the 'Newplow' ROM image, these are all included in the ROM. Even better still, the recent ROMs from Newplow include SDHC drivers, GPS Quick Fix, and the GPS firmware update.

I recommend (and I use) WM6 0.38 with SDHC and GPS Instant Fix from Newplow. I've had no significant problems with it...

I happen to have a copy of the OEM installation files from an earlier ROM, but I didn't use it on this one... You can always PM me for more details.

Yup - I had complete success with my upgrade. Fully working with SDHC built in - I'm running off a 16GB Transcend class 6 SDHC card...

Sorry but got a question. Downloaded the firmware image but it is not recognised (ends in .7z whereas other ended in .nbf). The filename is N560.WM.6.0.38g.SDHC.7z. I also noted that it is smaller than previous version.

Do I just rename the file and if so to what?

This is a 7-zip archive file you need to load 7-zip on your PC and extract the archive.
