The Rebirth of the N560 and others in the N series?

Those of you who either own or were fans of the N560 (personally, I own one) may be interested in knowing that Pharos now seems to have those machines in their own brand. Have a look at this Pharos Traveler GPS 535v, and compare it to your N560 in terms of looks and specifications. The only thing different is the branding and the model number.

In addition, it looks like the 535 series from Pharos come from the same Fujitsu series.

That's interesting news Wiyosaya, good spot.

Makes sense to a degree for both parties. Pharos grab a porfolio of devices with none of the development costs and the user-base, Fujitsu Siemens off-load a product line they see as non-core.

Yep I'll agree that is definitely the N560 by a different name!

Re: The Rebirth of the N560 and others in the N series?

Well I'll be damned! And just after posting a thread regarding my hypothetical dilemma - what if I had to replace my N560!!

I knew about the Pharos devices - I saw them in one of the huge Frys centres whilst in the US at the start of the year - although the only devices I saw were lower spec (I guess the equivalent to the loox N500 and N520 - no VGA screens).

Good to see that they have picked them up...

Bear in mind, you can get SDHC and WM6 running - a pretty decent proposition... Just need to add a bit more RAM...

A.

Well if you manage to solve that RAM issue that will be a miracle

Already done by others, m8. Only problem is, the only OS patch I can see is for WM5...

Loox N560/C550 128mb RAM Upgrade - xda-developers
