Integrate Windows Update Services (WSUS) into Windows Home Server
We Got Served has a tutorial on how to integrate Windows Update Services v3 (WSUS) into Windows Home Server. WSUS is a local copy of Windows Update/Microsoft Update that is stored on the server and automatically installs the updates to all the other machines on your network. The tutorial is written by Windows Small Business Server MVP, Kevin Royalty and is available for download as a .doc document.
More info here.

Probably not for us but someone might find it useful, and of course there are those who just have to play.....

Re: Integrate Windows Update Services (WSUS) into Windows Home Server
I actually started investigating this over Christmas so it's good timing!
It's just the time saved on multiple downloads is all I was after....

Re: Integrate Windows Update Services (WSUS) into Windows Home Server
Slightly off topic i know, but what id like to do is have a version of microsoft update that runs from my laptop. I can keep it up to date in the office and then when i go to a customers site i would just hook my laptop up to their network and then point each PC's browser at my laptops IP and use it just like the normal MS update site. Anyone know of anything like that?

WSUS will do that. It's what it does. You just have to get the client settings right and have your lappy on for a while.

Re: Integrate Windows Update Services (WSUS) into Windows Home Server
It doesn't need an underlying server architecture then Dave?
