Re: 4WM XDA Orbit WM6 ROM Upgrade FAQ now available

Hi Tonybro,

Thanks for the nice document. I am facing a typical problem in updating the ROM to 6. I did as per your instructions, but while actually starting the installation process, the mobile is getting disconnected from the PC, I mean the ActiveSync is getting disconnected automatically and then it end up with a red/green screen on the mobile.

I tried this many time, but everytime I faced the same problem.

Can you please help in this.

Thanks
Deepak

Have you installed the latest version of ActiveSync on your PC?
I had a similar sounding problem which was resloved by installing the latest version of ActiveSync.

Have you got Microsoft .NET Framework version 2 installed on your PC? I also take it you must be running Windows XP to be using activesync 4.5.

You will need to go into activesync settings, and there should be a setting to allow data connections.

I tried all options in ActiveSync. Is this a problem with WM6? I saw on some forums that WM6 has some bugs....

Re: 4WM XDA Orbit WM6 ROM Upgrade FAQ now available

Hi all, trying to do this upgrade but when I go to the my-xda site, I enter my serial number from the back under the battery pack and it says it isn't a recognised serial number!

Just to confirm that it's the 11 digit number that starts with HT*********? Or am I supposed to drop the HT prefix?

Many thanks in advance
