O2 Xda Orbit And Tomtom Navigator 6

Hi guys.
Another techno incompetant here.
Im trying to et TT6 working on my Orbit.
Ive proved the s/w works through an external GPS device but it keeps saying ' NO GPS device!'.
Any ideas please ? The GPS Progamne Port is set to COM5, whilst the GPS hardware Port os COM7. Is this wrong?

Help please

Re: O2 Xda Orbit And Tomtom Navigator 6

I think the Orbit hardware port is Com4, so set the Program Port to COM4 and the hardware port to None.

Now set TomTom to 'Other NMEA Receiver', 4800 Baud and COM4

Alternatively turn off the 'Allow Windows to manage GPS' and set both ports to None, then set TTN as above. If using TTN 6.03 or higher you could also set TTN for 'Built in GPS'

Possible, but the preferred method is to pop over to tomtom.com and download the Orbit (HTC 3300) upgrade patch. This will, amongst other things, give you the menu option to use an internal GPS. Works a treat.

That is exactly what I have done Bryan, plus you get a nice newer TomTom icon for your programme and today screen!

I'd have thought not, as the hardware is very different. Might be worth seeing if an equivelent updates is available for the Orbit2 though.
