Orbit restoring using SPB backup tool

Hi to all
I am using an Orbit since its first release and got some problem.
I have sent it to UK for rectification, after rectifying the problem I am in receipt of the handset but it has been upgraded to wm5 to wm6 professional.
Here my problem is I have taken backup using SPB backup tool before sending it for rectification(in wm5).Can i restore the content by using the same backup file now as my hand set is on wm6?

Please advice me and thanks in advance.

Ahh, that's a tough one. I suspect it probably won't be 100% successful.

First off, I would try it anyway. If the device miss-bhaves afterwards, perform a hard reset. Then I would try a custom restore and just choose the PIM data and MyDocuments. I suspect the phone settings and programs will have to be re-installed from scratch.

It's a weird one. Technically, they've given you back a more modern device, which is nice. However, they've also scuppered your careful backup plans, with is a pain in the <cough>.

Good luck, but I suspect docs and pim are all you'll get back.
