Angry XDA Orbit not charging

Hi can anyone help me with my problem. I have the XDA orbit yesterday i

put the phone on charge came back after about 2 hours and it didnt

charge a single bar it shows under power 0% charged.

I thought at 1st that there was something up with the charger I pluged

my XDA to the laptop with the usb connector same problem not charging.

I got my battery fully charged from a mate who has the same phone so

its not the battery problem nor the mains charger problem.

I than done a HARD RESET holding down the 2 keys (-) problem is still

there. I had windows mobile 5 running so i changed it to windows mobile

6 now same problem.

Can anyone help me with this

Thanks

Re: XDA Orbit not charging

Try taking the battery out and leaving the device for about 30mins.

When you put the battery back in - charge from a mains PSU not USB lead via laptop/PC.

See if that helps.

Only other thing is it could be a faulty device!

Re: XDA Orbit not charging

Hi Jason and welcome

It could well be a faulty mini USB socket on your device, it is not an uncommon problem.

Re: XDA Orbit not charging

Hi Boz,
the mini usb on the xda orbit is working as far as I can tell because when I connect it to the laptop/pc it recognises the device and it synchronizes it so im guessing from this its working. What I dont get is why isn't charging. If you have any idea please let me know

Thanks
Jason

Re: XDA Orbit not charging

Hi Jason, have you tried a hard reset, I know it's a last-resort but...

Re: XDA Orbit not charging

Jim-he's tried that already, and has also flashed a new ROM which has the same effect

This is definitely a hardware fault somewhere in the charging circuit as the battery charges in another Orbit, and the USB socket is OK. The only other thing to try is to borrow your mate's charger, to see if that works. It's a slight possibility that your charger has ceveloped a fault and is delivering a lower charge than required (HTC devices need a good 1A supply); once the device battery gets below a certain level, USB charging also ceases to work.

I suppose to test that you need to get your battery 50% charged in your mate's Orbit, then see if USB charging works from your PC (if you haven't done already!)
