Question TomTom Audio over bluetooth?

DOes anyone know if its possible, when paired to a bluetooth carkit, to have the TomTom Nav6 audio instructions, interupt the radio and send its audio over the bluetooth like when the phone rings.???

I sometimes miss the instructions if the radio is up to loud.

I wonderd if there is a config i can edit or a piece of software that can be added?

I have an O2 XDA Orbit I, and Tom Tom Nav 6. I am currently using a Jabra headset but am intending installing a bluetooth carkit soon.

All help appreciated

Regards

Re: TomTom Audio over bluetooth?

You need a utility which can send system sounds over the Bluetooth heaset channel.

Look for something like Teksoft Bluemusic. I'm not sure how this works with a car kit- you need to research which car kits work with WM devices before buying.

Re: TomTom Audio over bluetooth?

An alternative (albeit, less high tech) is to connect the audio-output of your device through an FM transmitter. Then, play music through the devices built-in MP3 player and the TomTom instructions will automatically come through the car stereo. You can still pair the bluetooth for phone calls or use an audio adator with a mic - which woks rather well and sends the phone-call audio through the car stereo as well.

Re: TomTom Audio over bluetooth?

Thanks Bassey for your advise. I will dig out info on utilities, now I know they exist.

Cheer Neilm for your input, I would however like a more elegant solution.
My car stereo does have an aux in socket and have coupled this up and it works very well. However I like using the 6 disk MP3 CDplayer in the car.
Additionally the Orbit starts to strugle if running Media player TomTom & phone services all at once.

These sites are great as there is always someone that has tried it all before.

Cheers

Here's a link to BlueMusic

The info page specifically mentions using it with GPS apps! Costs €10

Re: TomTom Audio over bluetooth?

Page noted for my use too. Scared me half to death when I opened it though with that bass sound!
