Yeah, TomTom 6. Works flawlessly for me, and no problems with support. Oh well.

Sorry Ian, never had a problem with TT V5 or V6.

I fastidiously write down all my activation/device codes for the devices and can re-install at any time with manual activation using these codes.

Never, ever, had to call or e-mail them (thankfully!)

TTV6 is the reason I have the Orbit. I even use it in preference to the SatNav in my car

Coudn't agree more. I also have an exact copy of my TomTom SD card (not the backup of the original, that's in safe keeping) stored in my wallett, with maps etc already activated, plus all that backed-up on my hard drive. So it's a simple matter of copying the folder contents to a fresh SD card for a fresh install that's already activated. And, if this goes down for whatever reason when I'm on the road (SD card failure) then a simlpe swap of the SD card from my wallett and away I go again.

Question Re: OOC (Orbit Owners Club)

Hello, I was wondering if you could help with a little problem, I want to change my ringtone on my orbit I when i transfer music which has been ripped from a cd to the ringtones folder it works fine, However when I transfer a track bought off the internet it shows in the drop down list but states that I need a licence to play it. I can play the songs perfectly on media player so the licence should already be on the device.

thanks,

Re: OOC (Orbit Owners Club)

Ah- that's a new one! I suspect it may be that the Rings function doesn't open a full session of WMP, so the license doesn't get validated.

Your best bet might be to try 'converting' the track to a non-protected format. It is also worth editing the track to the length of a normal ringtone, as some people report that a full lenght track doesn't stop playing when the phone is answered.
