Hi Jim
AP4 was a good ROM, but a bit heavy on included apps, leaving memory a little low- iGO wouldn't always start, and some thing ran a little slow.
I've since tred AP5 Bta, but same arguments, though it is better than AP4.
For the past 3 weeks I've settled on the Irus/Taxist ultra light ROM from
Here . When the say Ulta light, they mean it! No File Explorer (has TotalCamander instead); no Windows Media Pl;ayer (has TCPMP), no Touchflo anfew bells & whistles.
But it is superfast, and has 120MB free storage memory plus about 70MB free Program memory under SPL3.5. It is also available for the original SPL1.2, with even more free storage memory.
As always, there are some glitches- the system font is too big by default, but a reg hack fixes that. The G, 3G and H icons don't always show in the title bar; again there is a reg hack, or Schaps Configurator can fix it, but it's still hit & miss. Also, the 'Flash Light for..' for new Emails doesn't work.
Other than that, its good. Irus is reportedly working on a final version, but I'd be happy to keep this one even with its faults.
