I have a huge problem.

During update on win XP from WM5 to WM 6, process stops when it should begin flashing the rom.

I have hardSPL installed.

After HTC's screen becomes black, program on PC stops at 0% and after few minutes says that USB connection has been lost.

Same thing at Vista... Error 260. Other times it synces just fine!?

Maybe hardSPL is 'guilty' for this? Should I make downgrade?

I can't resolve that in any way...

Any help would be really appreciated.

stick your device in bootloader mode and connect it to your pc

the pc should automatically install some drivers

when try the rom upgrade again

might be worth checking hard spl installed correctly when you enter bootloader

let me know if you need a but more info

Thank you Johnston, done that already. It does install some drivers (installs HTC USB sync).
After that I always reset the phone, because Active sync doesn't recognize it anymore.
After that I run update, connect Tytn again, resume update and everything looks ok.
And then, as I mentioned before... BlackSOD - Phone resets and doesn't reconnect again.

I suspect something is wrong with my hardSPL.
I tried to reinstall/downgrade it but it ends just like ROM upgrade... no connection can be made.

Yes, I need info how to check if hardSPL is correctly installed.

Before I had HERM200; IPL-1.00; SPL 2.03
Now I have HERM200; IPL-1.04; SPL-2.10Olipro

Hope I am not stuck with WM5 4ever...

Dear Johnston, thanks to you, I figured it out.
I made a mistake to reset phone after it was in bootloader mode (said that in instructions - to keep active sync alive...).

Got an idea when I didn't notice any 'reset' word in your post.

Program didn't read current ROM info, but was able to flash new ROM on the phone, usb HTC sync stayed connected all the time.
