Anyone know if it's possible to install Olipro w/o a computer running windows?
Any way I can either run it from my mac or right from my 8525?

Hi bobudesu and welcome to 4WM

You cannot run it from your device as the file is a Windows .exe file, you can run it from a Mac with a programme that is similar to Activesync whose name escapes me at the moment, it may be called "sync all" or similar. If I remember it I will post it up.

The rom will look much the same as this one (! Updated Official ATT/Cingular WM6 rom + radio 1.48.00 + working PTT (13-09 2007) !)HERE which was the previous release rom, before this updated version.
Rumour has it that it is the end of the month for a release.

Sorry that I didn't think about it before installing my "good" stuff... If I flash again (and I probably will or at the least perform a hard reset...) I'll post some pics... don't hold your breath though, it may be a long two to three days...

Thanks boz, I really appreciate you taking the time to try to help!

Are you talking about missing sync? If so, I'm not sure how I can install it from missing sync as I don't believe it will do anything with an exe file... I just tried dropping the exe file in the "Install" section of missing sync and all it did was move the exe onto my 8525, without actually installing anything or looking anything like what the Olipro directions looked like in the link you posted in the original post. Any further help from anyone would really, really be appreciated as I'd love to avoid bricking my phone

If you are already running an AT&T rom, you should be able to upgrade the rom through missing sync (that's the one!) it is possible, it is up to you if you want to take the risk. Do not forget there is a new version of missing sync.

I am assuming that you don't have access to a windows pc at all... if not, can you grab a copy of Parallels or BootCamp and install on your mac...? That will allow you to run any windows apps on your mac... BootCamp actually allows you to run the full OS... I did it with a mac mini... BootCamp was free about a year ago... Not sure if you want to go through all of the hassle though....

Edit: heh... Boz beat me to the answer and it sounds like his may be a better one, certainly saves a lot of time...

I would recommend throwing your MAC out a 65 story building and watching it go all the way down (make sure the street is empty!!) because that is about how much fun you are going to get out of it anyway....

My personal opinion aside, since you have a WINDOWS mobile powered device, I would recommend running either running a Virtual PC with Windows XP on it, or partitioning your Hard-Drvie and installing Windows straight up on it. It makes the ActiveSync process a lot easier and you can fully XPerience the power of your device. Or you can spend $600 on an IPhone and have the power of 3 year old Edge Technology and "groundbreaking full webpage surfing" *cough* picsel browser *cough* and "visual voicemail"...who needs that anyway the number 7 works fine for me when browsing my voicemail...

If not then yea, use Boz's method...
